This magical 40-acre cultivated ecosystem will wrap around you and leave you enchanted. Enjoy this peaceful retreat site truly a place to rest and reconnect with the earth and yourself. We are closed from September 1st until May 1st but our BnB is open search for The Grand Room at Simplicity Sanctuary to stay on the land in the colder months. A great place to stop for the night but one day will not be enough to wander the grounds, drink a cup of hot tea from the herb garden, sit on a bench talking to ancient trees, walk the labyrinth, wander the sacred Grove, and camp under the stars. There's so much to see here from the rose and vegetable gardens to the orchards and sheep. Spend the morning sipping tea in the greenhouse, an afternoon walking the gardens, and an evening watching the moon and stars from the observatory platform. Take a tour or a workshop and learn to spin yarn from our Icelandic sheep. bring your knitting, bring friends, or just a book and spend a few days here on the land. Contact us about small gatherings and retreats We love to host groups. NOTE: This is a working farm we have animals, dirt, sticks, bugs, and poop, and lots of opportunities to "connect" with Nature. All of our amenities are shared spaces, designed to foster community. You will find good signs with clear communication here. All of our lodgings are off-grid with no electricity or running water. Water, electricity, and wifi are available in the kitchen, garden, cafe, and lounge areas. Please bring battery-operated lights, bedding, and a pillow, unless otherwise noted. We request that campers check in before 8 pm. Remember you are coming to someone's home, Please communicate if you are coming in late so we can accommodate you. We have tent camping, glamping, and cabins available from May to September. We also offer tours of the animals and gardens by arrangement. Amenities include a showerhouse, bathhouse, semi-commercial kitchen, library, cafe, fiber studio, yarn shop, and plenty of outdoor seating. Additionally, we have safe potable water, 2 portable toilets, a hand washing station, and two charcoal/wood barbeques available for your use.

Magical Farm Stay
Compass Rose is a magical, beautifully cultivated space to stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Kateen who gave us a tour of the property (there's a lot to see!). We walked through forest, fields, streams, and friendly fowl as we checked out the many available amenities. We stayed in the Round House with our co-sleeping 1 year old, the space was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was awesome! Having access to a full kitchen while camping/glamping felt like a game changer with a baby. The outdoor shower was so cool! The morning was brisk but the water was warm! Make sure you bring biodegradable body care stuff so you can scrub off after a day of exploring. Highly recommend doing the pick your own salad. Even though it was really early in the season, we were still able to forage enough for a delicious salad! There's so much to do and see at Compass Rose and our experience was fantastic. We will definitely be back and have already recommended it to our friends and family.

The Round house is great. Cozy, clean, cute and comfortable. Kateen is a lovely host, Generous with her time in introducing us to her land and farm despite having lots of guest. Great spaces like a shared kitchen, gardens and nature walk. Loved the farm animals!!

Awesome stay on Kateen's incredibly charming farm. So lovely to interact with geese, ducks, and turkeys roaming the grounds, and to get the opportunity to pick some fresh produce for dinner. It was also fun to interact with other guests in the communal spaces.

Enjoyable time, some prominent cons
Overall went better than I had expected upon arrival. Site amenities were good, but could be better beings that they are provided. By this I mean the gas was so low on the stove that it took over an hour to boil water, fridges were set very high, hot water tank didn’t work and we weren’t told until arrival. I understand it’s a farm but there’s clear lack of minimal maintenance. I really enjoyed the tea options, gardens, greenhouses, decor. It was great being around animals although the ducks and turkeys will bite at you when you’re eating at the tables. The sites are okay but the family site photos should all be updated to show that there’s now a private yurt there and not much room for more than 1 tent, the only ground left is very uneven and full of duck poop, rake is provided though. Being able to collect flowers, herbs and the produce available was nice. I would probably have enjoyed my time better if I chose a cabin, yurt or camper. I would consider coming back as the surroundings and animals trump the bad here. It is close to the highway but you cannot hear any cars, I did hear a lot of gunshots so just FYI for anybody easily triggered** by that.
