A family owned and operated 15 acre campground park with full hook up RV sites, along the Frio River, 5 mins from Garner State Park in Rio Frio, Texas, with direct river access on both sides of the crystal clear spring-fed running waters at this magical swimming hole with a picturesque bend that has served as campgrounds for many families since the 1960's that camp, fish, kayak, and tube to Happy Hollow and Garner State Park. The property is lined with massive cypress trees, a pecan grove, vast amounts of wildlife, and amazing starry nights perfect for stargazing, camping, swimming, fishing, kayaking, hiking, tubing, and campfires. Choose from 9 RV spots, 25 tent camping sites with electricity, 50 primitive camping sites, van/car camping sites, many boondocking sites, 3 extra special primitive river side sites, and soon to come glamping sites. 7 RV sites come with full availability to 30/50 amp electricity, water, septic tank, picnic table, bbq grill, high speed wifi, and all sites come with access to amenities such as a resting pavilion with tables and furniture, clean restrooms, full hot/cold showers, large screen tv, cooling fans, outdoor cooking gas grills, Texas sized bbq smoker, dog park, games for kids and adults, a monarch butterfly sanctuary and a new organic farm in the process. Located on Ranch Road 1120, 5 minutes north of Garner State Park our property is the public access point for tubers and kayakers to jump in and float to Happy Hollow, Garner State Park, Neal's or Andy's. Rio Frio is 10 minutes south of Leakey and 10 minutes north of Concan away from lights and lots of noise. We embrace the Dark Sky pledge for stargazers seeking to enjoy the night sky, the Leave It Better pledge, ask that you Don't Mess with Texas, and ask that you treat others as you want to be treated. We have firewood available at discounted rates for larger bundles than stores. We please ask that you respect all wildlife as we are in process of becoming a monarch sanctuary. There are many types of birds, butterflies, axis and whitetail deer, wild turkeys, rabbits, armadillos, and fish. No hunting and please have your fishing license. See you soon. Several communal bathrooms on the property. 16 campsites with electricity /water plus primitive campsites: toilets are accessible. 11 RV spots with 30/50 amp, septic, water, and wifi available. Boondocking and primitive camping available along the river if you bring your own composting toilet.

This is really pretty piece of ground, excellent access to the Frio, and the camp host Carlos was very welcoming and constantly made sure we had what we needed. We will be looking forward to returning for another lovely stay.

We just got back from camping at the rio frio, and I honestly can’t stop thinking about how peaceful and beautiful everything was. The property is incredibly well-maintained—everything felt clean, cared for, and intentionally laid out. Each campsite felt secluded enough to have your own space, which made it feel like a true escape for healing. The host, Carlos, was amazing. Their kindness, attention to detail, and welcoming energy made the whole experience 10 times better. It genuinely felt like a safe and inclusive space to just rest. Already dreaming of our next trip

Awesome site. Great location with great river access. Bathrooms and showers were super clean. The host, Carlos, was really friendly and helpful with everything we needed. 5 star experience, starting with Carlos to the location, cleanliness, pet friendly, river access, amenities, and more! Highly recommend staying here and will be returning soon without a doubt.

Let me just say this place is awesome! Carlos is an amazing host of the campgrounds and is very welcoming from beginning to end. Me and my cousin decided to stay here as a last minute trip and we didn’t regret it. We had a beautiful campsite, electricity, the showers/restroom are nice and well maintained. There is a patio area connected to the office that has games like corn hole and connect 4. He has a tv and we all watched the Astros game. The WiFi works pretty good too! Overall we had everything we needed and if you are missing anything , Carlos just might have it and will not hesitate to let you borrow something or use his amenities to make your trip that much better. I would recommend this place 1000 times thank you Carlos !

We had an amazing time at Rio Frio Camp. Carlos was the best host and super accommodating. Bathrooms were clean, and there was a Pavillion with patio furniture and games. The property was beautiful.
