Amazing skies, sunsets, and views! Be prepared to bring your own shade, but otherwise very comfortable for a dry camp. Campsites are nicely spaced.

The Red Rock Retreat 01
The views were very pretty from this site and it was a good location, close to White Sands National Park as well as other hiking areas within Oliver Lee Memorial State Park! Would recommend getting there before dark however due to the bumpy road and the minimal lights present. A relaxing place to unwind!

I wanted to be out in the middle of the desert without being too far out. Perfect for that. Took my motorcycle in no problem but you need to be careful the last few hundred yards. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Easy to get to with 20' trailer. Far enough from the interstate to be quiet. but close enough for an easy overnight. Campsite & road was that kind of loose super fine dust that flies everywhere so don't make my mistake and make sure every car/trailer opening is closed. My dogs were covered in it too. But the stars and open views are priceless

Definitely arrive before dark! The road is SUPER bumpy getting in so be aware. Besides that the views of the mountains and stars were lovely. Very quiet!
