Best of the midwest biking, hiking, Ozark Trail, rock climbing Elephant Rocks Park, Johnson Shut-ins and more swimming holes nearby! Wood for sale on site, $5 per bundle, Fire starters also available. Ask us about our "Really Good At Camping" merchandise. We have shirts, mugs & wine tumblers! *Cash Only* at this time. We Have free stickers! *For camp site locations please refer to our map in the campsite listing photos. We are located just west of the Ironton Water Works Plant and the Shepherd Mountain Lake dam. Turn right after the dam, drive through Shepherd Mountain Lake Park. If our "campground guests only" gate if it is closed, and please close gate behind you. Thank you! No Hook Ups No swimming in the lake and no outside boats, but we have boats for campers to use free of charge! General Store and restroom facilities/showers coming soon!

We loved this campground, it was clean, well taken care of, nice personal touches at each camp sites. The owner was very friendly, he refunded one of our camp sites due to weather. I loved the vibe, the hot tub was a nice touch that we enjoyed. They also have a walking trail. Check this place out!!

Really nice campground with a creative vibe. The hot tub was spectacular. The location was great, and the tent pad perfect and soft.

Try the tub
Arcadian Oasis
Friendly hosts and a well equipped glamping platform tent. We really enjoyed our stay. Very peaceful front porch sitting and a cozy wood burning stove to fend off the chill. That outdoor bathtub was a fun experience. Well done.

Overlook
Loved our time camping in the Overlook site at AVO. Everything was well maintained, site was really spacious and laid out so nice - for sure one of the best tent sites we’ve ever had! Hope to return again soon - I’m sure it’s even more beautiful in the summer!

Loved it so much we booked an extra night! Aside from the artistic charm that this site has, the amenities really make it something special. The hot tub and sauna were extremely well maintained, the campsites had super unique layouts and were nicely spaced out from one another, and we had a blast getting to go out and kayak on the lake for free. The folks that own the land were extremely friendly and did a great job keeping dry firewood, toilet paper in the compost outhouses, and fresh water stocked for campers. 5 minute drive into town for anything you might need. Johnson shutins and Elephant rocks are both a short drive away. 10/10 experience, will definitely be returning.
